Late Sheik Albani The Suspects
Seven suspects have been paraded in Abuja by the Department of State Service, DSS for the assassination of Islamic scholar Sheik Albani, his wife and son. The Sheik -who was killed on Febraury 1, 2014- was shot several times along with his wife and son after a preaching session at the Marzak Salafiyya Centre in Zaria.
The gang had waited patiently for him to finish his sermon before attacking his vehicle while he was still within the premises. Other occupants of the vehicle also sustained mean injuries, but it was apparent that it was an assassination as the gang made straight for his family.
The seven suspects who eventually confessed to the crime, told journalist the motive behind the assassination. They said the Sheik had exposed their secret to the Federal government, exposing them as members of the Boko Haram sect.
