Things We Do For Love: 23-Year Old Lady Caught In An Inferno While Trying To Rescue Her Fiance From A Burning Apartment

 

There's a two-line poem written by Ani Williams entitled 'Real Love', which reads

"Real love is only when I wake
To see that the one others crave would die for my sake"

23-year old architect, Sophie Rosser, died while trying to rescue her 28-year old fiance, Oscar Silva from a block of flat -on which they lived in East London- caught up in a fiery conflagration.

The 23-year old who had just returned from a party early one morning, saw the building on fire, and called Silva's in a bid to alert him to vacate the building. But he didn't respond!

In panic, she rushed into the building to try to save him. But unbeknownst to her, Silva had made use of the elevator to another floor, attempting to escape the fire. They missed each other in the chaos of the situation.

 

While Silva was eventually rescued by the paramedics, Rosser on the hand, was found unconscious by a fireman, after which she passed on.
